                   	     ORDINANCE NO. 9465
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION
                   OF OLD BAILEY AVENUE LOCATED NORTHWEST FROM
                   SPRUCE STREET, BETWEEN BAILEY AVENUE AND DUNCAN
                   AVENUE, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned a portion of Old Bailey Avenue located northwest
         from Spruce Street, between Bailey Avenue and Duncan Avenue, 
more
         particularly described herein, and as shown on plat attached
         hereto and made a part hereof by reference:
               
                Old Bailey Avenue, a 24 foot wide right-of-way, and
                part of the New Bailey Avenue right-of-way.  Said
                right-of-way and part of right-of-way form one
                tract beginning at the intersection of the
                northeast line of Old Bailey Avenue with the
                northwest line of Spruce Street, thence southwest
                some 41 feet with Spruce Street to a point 60 feet
                (if measured at a right angle) northeast of the
                southwest line of New Bailey Avenue, thence
                northwest some 127.5 feet parallel to, and at all
                points 60 feet northeast of, the southwest line of
                New Bailey Avenue to the southeast line of a 10
                foot alleyway (if extended), thence northeast some
                25 feet with said alleyway to the northeast line of
                Old Bailey Avenue, said point being the southwest
                corner of Lot 13, Block 2, Cook and Hutcheson's new
                subdivision of Fisher's Amended Addition to
                Highland Park, as shown by plat of record in Plat
                Book 5, Page 53, R.O.H.C., thence southeast 130
                feet with the southwest line of said Lot 13 and the
                northeast line of Old Bailey Avenue to the
                northwest line of Spruce Street, the point of
                beginning.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law.
